Gregor Morfill with Donald Clayton in Clayton’s office at Rice University on Oct 16, 1981 . They have been discussing the potential for the solar accretion disk (see blackboard) to gather and mineralize the cosmic-chemical-memory components of isotopic anomalies. This interest and friendship began during Clayton’s research years 1977-81 at Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg , where Morfill was one of the staff scientists.
