Mark Leising explains his PhD thesis to Donald Clayton in Clayton's office at Rice University in May, 1986. Leising's thesis involved gamma ray production and escape from the atmospheres of novae. See "Positron annihilation gamma rays from novae", Leising and Clayton (1987) ApJ, 323,159. This effort remains active at Clemson under CGRO OSSE team.
